Te Rangimarie – Young Adult Centre

Te Rangimarie is our centre for young adults aged between 18 & 21. It’s a place that everyone enjoys coming too, where friendships are strengthened and skills for life are further developed.

Our young adults complete a range of SPEC (South Pacific Educational Courses Ltd) modules which are based on their interests alongside developing competencies needed for life and work, such as cooking, gardening, shopping, and getting ready for work.

We are the first Specialist School in New Zealand to achieve NZQA accreditation to deliver the approved programme towards the New Zealand Certificate in Skills for Living for supported learners.

Our young adults take great pride in their work and also their school environment. They can often be found working together to problem-solve their latest task, making a healthy lunch, ensuring the gardens are well maintained, or on the erg machine at the Hawkes Bay Rowing Club.
